Happy Holidays 2011

My goodness, it's been 10 months since I added any new artwork. I suppose the grind of doing a daily drawing, scanning it and posting it for 17 months straight (started in October 2009) was just getting old. Anyhow, I plan to do some more things, but I doubt that it will be daily. Oh well. What does it matter? I do miss drawing that often. So, just to put something new up, here is this year's Holiday Illustration that I had to do at work. You can see the last 2 I did right here: http://johngundichdoodles.blogspot.com/search/label/Photoshop%20Coloring

Lame. Yes, I know. But, it was not my idea. I just created what they asked for. So, I'm an art whore. What are you gonna do? Boy, I do miss posting things.

Oh, and I did this entire piece on Photoshop using the drawing tablet. So, I drew a sketch first, then an ink layer, and then layers of coloring. So much fun.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Happy Holidays 2010

Well, I had to do this thing again at work. This year, they wanted to be on the ice in Lake Michigan with our building in the background. Luckily, there was not as much to color in this time, so it went a bit faster. It's still pretty lame, though. But...it was fun at certain moments.

Finished Size: about 10" x 8"

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Gumdrop Andy got everything he wished for!

This marks the first time I colored Gumdrop Andy. I always envisioned him as that yellow color. He even looks more innocent now...if that is even possible. Also, this is the first time that I did a pencil sketch, inked it, erased the lines AND colored it in photoshop. I've done that many times before, but not for a blog post. So, this is the most extensive one that I have done. And...well, it was fun. So, enjoy.

Merry Christmas Andy.

Technically, I did not draw this today. I drew this last week. But, I just finished coloring it...so, I'll put this as my drawing today. This is for an area in my company. It will be added to their winter newsletter. I still have to put their names and other text on it...but here it is "clean." I drew this first with ink, then scanned it in...then colored it in Photoshop. I'm not too excited about it, but for the extreme time crunch I had (color it all today after drawing it last Tuesday)...and fit it in with all my other work, I'll accept it. Oh, and they asked for all this stuff to be included in the illustration. It was not my idea to shingle the igloo and paint it. This was all them. I had to cut them off from a ton of other requests (penguins, reindeer, Santa flying in the sky on his sleigh, etc.). Anyway. I do get to do fun stuff working here, even if it may seem lame.
